If you visit the Kodai lake then this is the closest place to visit from there. A quick walk of 500m and you will reach this place by the name of Coaker’s Walk . Constructed by Lt.Coaker in 1872, this walk is a 1 km pedestrian stretch along the slopes of the hill which will give you breathtaking views. Check out few of the images captures by me at Coaker’s Walk in Kodaikanal.
Its one of the best spots to get a panoramic view of the hills of Kodaikanal, the best part being these hills are not exploited by construction activities.
Managed to capture the beautiful gradient formed due to presence of fog and sun. The hills stand like a wall for the villages around.
The gradient of colours from yeallow to blues made me capture the view.
Like every tourist place this walk will also give to some opportunities to take some souvenirs with yourself. The most interesting for me was the ringing bell made of crystal glass.
I was told during winters one can see their own shadow on the clouds with a rainbow halo. A bit of research on this and i got to know its called Brocken Spectre. Damn I missed it! Next time…
Have anything else to share about Coaker’s walk in Kodaikanal ? Or planning to be there soon. We are eager to hear from you.
